Opportunity Changes Everything
BGC Yarmouth, formerly Boys and Girls Club of Yarmouth, is a community-based, multi-service organization that supports the healthy physical, educational, and social development of children, youth, and families.
Since August 1967, BGC Yarmouth has been an integral part of our community, offering high-quality childcare to our community families. We strive for high-quality programming and an inclusive environment where all children are welcomed and have a sense of belonging.
Over the past 56 years the BGC Yarmouth has went through many changes from the start of the organization being only for “boys” to venturing out and partnering with community partners to expand services where needed. The Club has had some bumps along the way in recent years the impact of a major theft was felt by all as keeping our doors open remained top priority but not without sacrifice and a lot of hard work.
To then on December 19, 2016, just as the Club was beginning to really get back on its feet our Bond Street location experienced a damaging flood, forcing us to up root and move out in just 5 days, just before Christmas. The center moved to its temporary location and we were out of our “home” for a whole year. Moving back again just before Christmas.
We are so thankful for the dedication of our staff, parents and the communities support during this difficult time. We are grateful to have returned “home”.
BGC Yarmouth is nothing short of a second family to all those who grace our doors, to the parents who entrust us with their children, to the amazing dedicated educators who offer high quality programming and of course the children and youth we get to spend our days with.
